Model Railway Trains - Layouts
This is where you can allow your imagination to run wild. If
you are just wanting to settle for a standard circular or oval track laid out on the tabletop or the front room
carpet to be dismantled and put away after use then your option for creative thoughts might be restricted. If,
however, you have it in mind to create a more permanent model railway train layout then the sky's the limit. A
permanent layout can be as large or small as you desire. In fact if it is your wish to grow the layout sometime in
the future as your finances allow then forward planning is required regarding the size of the base that you
intend to use.
If you intend that the base upon which you
intend to erect the layout is a board of some kind then you should consider what size would best suit your needs.
The many layouts that enthusiasts have designed are wide and varied. City scenes complete with buildings, green
spaces, vehicular traffic and pedestrians make a great backdrop for a model railwaytrain layout. Likewise I
have seen country scenes featuring lakes, mountains and forests with a railway track winding it's way over bridges
and through tunnels. Some design their systems to replicate scenes that are familiar to them including stations,
marshalling yards and maintenance bases. Here is a charming example of a small layout depicting a small Cornish
branch line station and built by P. Marriot. Note the attention to detail and backdrop.

There is a huge range of ancilliary equipment
available allowing you to create a virtual reality scenario ensuring of a first class model railway build. It
is not difficult to understand why model railway trains layouts have such a following. Some layouts are so
realistic that by merely observing these miniturisations over a period of time one can almost mentally shrink into
the scene. It is no wonder why this hobby turns men into boys again allowing them to transcend into a fantasy world
of their own.
